Springtime Beauties...

Spent some time this past beautiful weekend visiting an old springtime friend... the gorgeous Lilic bush a few streets over...{shhhh!}

I don't know who owns the abandoned house lot but since they've torn down the house, the lilac bush seems to have flourished!

we came home with armloads....now there are bouquets all over the house...

a few tucked in with the herbs on the kitchen windowsill...

on the mantle....

in the dining room....

the bathroom...

the porch windowsill....

and of course... in my studio!
Don't worry...we left a few on the bush for the bees!!

Hope spring is bringing you all lot's of beauty!

I love the scent of lilacs in a house! My Mom had a bush at their old house and when she had some in the house it was the first thing I smelled when I walked in the house. Love that smell! I'll bet they were just waiting for someone to come by and appreciate them, Paula!

LOL..that is cute and guess what..I do the same thing! I don't have any so I look around for some that have been abandoned too and I give them good homes. They bloom here the last of May. I love them in every room too! Come say hi :D

Yummy lilacs!!
Can you belive this is the first year I've seen them on the bushes???
They are so abundant here this year!!
I do not remember ever seeing them when I lived in Florida.
Love how you brought them in to enjoy!!

So funny....I did the same this weekend with the two lilac bushes close to me. One in my own yard that my mother planted years and years ago and then one at the little studio house. I gathered loads and did as you did....multiple little bouquets all over the house and an honorary vase full in the new studio. Your photos are stunning Paula. I have blogged about you at my blog for your graciousness in the post you did about Paper Nosh, and you wonderful talent hugs and xxx's, paulette

They aren't blooming yet in my neck of the woods. I love, love lilacs. I can see the buds on my bush and hope to see a flower before I leave for San Diego on Saturday.

I love lilacs. We used to have lilac bushes at my home in Wisconsin where I grew up. They especially looke pretty in your sewing room next to your sign (which I love!).

The scent of lilacs is my favorite all time nature scent. Those babies are meant to be picked and enjoyed. They were waiting for you to 'visit'. :)

Mmmm . . . I can almost smell that delicious aroma! My Lilacs are just starting to pop. I meant to cut some yesterday to bring in, but got sidetracked. Now I'll have to get out there for sure!

Absolutely stunning! There's something so redolent about lilacs, isn't there?! Mine were planted by my mom when I was a child, since she's been gone 21 years now, I cherish them more with each passing year - it's like a gentle reminder that she's still with me.

Lucky you! I love lilacs. I just planted one this weekend. It is small - only about 2 feet tall now, but it is suppose to get to be about 10 feet tall....

Oh, I adore lilacs. I miss them so much! They do not grow here in AZ and it is one of my greatest losses! Thanks for a lovely post!

I haven't seen in lilac bushes around here lately but lots of wisteria. I love how you put them throughout your home. It must smell heavenly.

I adore lilacs. About a month before they bloom here, I go on a mad frenzy to get my house in tip top, sparkling shape (and keep it that way...) in anticipation of the arrival of masses of bouquets of lilacs in my home. (For some reason, I just can't enjoy the lilacs in an untidy house...) I adore waking up to the smell! Can't wait. Thanks for sharing your bouquets, and I do the same thing, look for abandoned bushes that are flourishing!
