Love ~ the giveaway & the donation

Here it is...my newest sign and the first giveaway of the year...

'Amour' ....I know, it's not Italian...it's FRENCH!

(forgive me Dean, but French is the language of love, oui?)

and just in time for Valentine's day!

Completely handpainted...it measures 18"x8" and has been adorned with silver german glass glitter for yummyness & twinkle!
The giveaway rules are the same...

1. become a follower (if you aren't already)
and leave a comment on this post....maybe you'd like to share what love is to you??

=(1 chance)

2. post about this giveaway on your blog, then come back here and let me know in another comment...

=(2 chances)

and the winner will be chosen via random.org on

Friday, January 22....hmmmm...about 7pm.

Now, part two of this giveaway takes me to a more serious subject. I've done a second one of the 'Amour' signs and listed it on ebay.

This is a special listing with 100% of the profit going to Save the Children

here is my description from the auction page....

This auction is listed for the sole purpose of supporting "Save the Children" with 100% of the sale price going to their emergency relief efforts in Haiti. With nearly 4 million children, almost half of Haiti's population is under the age of 18. Before the devastating earthquake, it was hard for them to imagine a life that was free of violence and hunger. Now, their desperation is beyond anything I can imagine.
Small efforts on the part of people like you and me may make a difference
.

I felt compelled to do something, and like many people it is so hard to find what one can do, (unless you have an unlimited amount of funds!)

But here was something I could do, and I know it works because I've listed before with 100% profits going to the 9/11 foundation back in 2001...that was a very successful auction which raised $150.00 for a sign I painted...I was soooooo pleased!

I am hoping this auction is successful as well, and know perfectly well there will be some who will comment that my 'offering' isn't politically correct, but to them I say phooey! This is about saving children and they don't give a hoot about politics. There, I've said it, just in case I hear from Pat Robertson or some other completely ignorant fool.

You can visit the auction here

LOVE sign for Save the Children

(and bidding on it will make me squeal!!!)

Thanks so much to all ... I love you!

Well, of course, I'm in for this gorgeous thing, Paula! It's just lovely and I can think of at least two places I might like to put it.

What love is to me? Love is my hubby trying to be quiet in the morning so as not to wake me when he has to leave really early; love is my 19 year old son emptying the dishwasher for me; love is my soon-to-be 23 year old daughter, who shows me the new sonogram picture of my first grandchild; and it's even my Husky who snuggles up to my leg even when I've just called her an "idiot".

PAULA, WHAT A GREAT IDEA! I WOULD DO IT BUT WE JUST GAVE A HUGE AMOUNT TODAY AT CHURCH. THIS IS A GOOD IDEA AND I KNOW IT WILL FLY! AND YES, ANYONE WHO HOLDS IGNORANT IDEAS LIKE HE DOES IS JUST AN "OLD FOOL!" GOD BLESS YOU FOR USING YOUR TALENTS FOR GOOD! :D

What you are doing to help the people of Haiti is wonderful. I'll be sure and check out the ebay auction.
Love to me is when my husband makes me dinner, empties the dishwasher, puts the dishes away, does a load of laundry and brings me dessert.
It's the little things. A touch, a look, a hand squeeze. A card from my son with a written note inside, a smile, a little hug.

My kitties cuddling up beside me. It's all love.

Speaking of love. I love your sign, it's so devine.
I'm excited about the giveaway. So wonderful.

You may commence squealing. K8KC is me when you go to ebay. I bid your magic number, so you are guaranteed at least that. And if I win, I would love it if you delivered it and came to tea or lunch. Deal?

The sign is beautiful, but since I was the lucky recipient of one of your signs, I don't want to be included. (I don't want to take the chance away from someone else.) I will put it on my blog and I will bid on ebay for our selfless contribution to the relief efforts in Haiti. Bless you!!

Love is so many things. It's excitement about someone or something, being totally cozy and comfortable around someone, sharing, caring, passionate about someone or something, proud, happy, trusting, etc.

Please enter me for your lovely sign. Love is so many things... I keep replaying a scene that was on the news last night...

In Haiti, a man was so convinced his wife was still alive under a mountain of rubble that each time the equipment stopped digging, he ran up and called for her. It took some time, but he finally heard her calling to him. Finally they could see her face, and she told him that even if she died, to remember she loved him. It was beautiful and heartbreaking. They did get her free finally. One more miracle where there is so much pain and sorrow. Bless you for donating a sign to help!

LOVE the sign. Love for me is talking to my brother in Thailand through Skype. He is my only living relative and we talk almost daily. He gives me advice (often wanted, sometimes just given, lol) we laugh, we cry and we cyber hug. Eventhough he is thousands of miles from me, we connect this way.

Hugs from a new follower :)
