Everyone I meet or spend time catching up with, the subject of cats comes up.
I'm not really a cat lover, much more a dog person, but...
what is it with me and cats I wondered???
There is a story here I realized, and it can best be told with pictures...
When I was about...well, this age...
I found a stray cat....kitten actually.
Knowing perfectly well we weren't allowed to have cats...
I took her home, hid her in my closet.
She'd be fine there, no one would see her...
No one except mom!,
she found her,
made me give it away...my oldest sister was allergic to cats, had I lost my mind!!??
I couldn't understand...she was going to live in my closet for goodness sakes!
anyways...time goes by, lot's of time. .............................................................................................
...................................
I met my significant other....and I was keeping him!
and the little black kitten he came with!
her name was marnie...we loved her!
years go by again, and we have our first little toe-eating cherub;
michael!
he loved the cat...but, from my mom came more words of wisdom......
"did you know that cat's are known to
smother babies sleeping in their crib?? You better be careful... "
What??? Are you kidding me???
sure enough, there was marnie one day,
snuggled up to my first born in his crib!
AHHH!!!
see ya marnie! i don't know where, but it won't be here!!
fast foward....many years in the future,
we lost my mom almost 10 years ago (miss you mom!!!)
but I know she would of had more words of wisdom for what was about to happen...
Thanksgiving 2008...
michael is now 20 and our second cherub... Hannah...
(the one who was always more concerned about the boo boo on her toe)...
she is now 15...
so in comes Michael from college with a girl!!! but, but, this girl has four legs!!
oh no....what will our dog jessie think? what will jessie do?????? He Hates Cats!!
but Michael just loves this cat....'Piff' he named her...
well, it has taken some doin with Jessie...and I guess you could say I'm coming around....
despite the damage to my plants, my furniture, they way she goes into the cupboards and helps herself, not to mention the trash can...(truly an alley cat!)
I guess she can stay....
her and Jessie are getting along better...hide and seek their favorite game...
she just better remember....my mother and I are watching!!!
looks real worried don't she????
Before I go just had to share...
a couple sweet customers mention me/my signs in their recent blogs...
